Tayside is known as the region of rivers because it contains many magnificent examples, both large and small, tranquil and tumultuous and most of them with abundant stocks of fish. The River Tay dominates the Perthshire countryside and is one of the principle salmon fishing systems in Europe. Over its 119 mile course it is fed by rivers such as the Ericht, Isla, Garry, Tilt, Tummel, Lyon, Earn and Almond. The area is renowned for salmon and trout fishing, which are widely available and generally affordable. We would happy to arrange a package to suit your requirements. Freshwater (non-migratory) Fish There is no statutory close season for grayling or coarse fish in Scotland otherwise they have similar legal status to brown trout. Migratory Fish (Salmon and Sea Trout) Earn River System: 1 February - 31 October Useful Link: www.anglingintayside.co.uk |
